Intraoral Cameras
To make sure you and your dentist are always on the same page, rather than just telling you what they are seeing in your mouth, they can actually show you using an intraoral camera. This device is no bigger than a pen and can capture close-up, high-resolution photos of your teeth and gums. We can show you the images on a TV in the treatment room, letting you see potential problem areas for yourself. This also helps us better explain how certain treatments can help your smile.
All-Digital X-Rays
We use X-rays every single day in our dental office because they enable us to examine the surfaces beneath the gum line. They help us catch cavities, infections, and even cancer that might be hidden from the naked eye. Digital X-rays offer several benefits compared to traditional film: they only take seconds to develop the images, we can show them to you immediately, and the process emits 90% less radiation as well.
3D Cone Beam Imaging
With our cone beam scanner, we can essentially take a CAT scan of just your head, creating a 3D image of your teeth, jawbones, and supporting oral structures. This image gives us much, much more information compared to a typical X-ray, and it allows us to plan for more complicated procedures with extreme accuracy (like dental implant placement). We can see the thickness of the bone, the location of sensitive facial nerves, and more so we can ensure the procedure is both successful and comfortable.
iTero® Digital Impressions
Instead of having a patient spend minutes biting into messy, odd-tasting dental putty to get an impression of their teeth, we can instead just scan their mouth with a handheld instrument. In minutes, it will capture thousands of data points, and on a nearby monitor, these will be pieced together to create a perfect digital impression. The process is fast, tidy, and allows our team to better design a wide array of treatments so they both fit and look better.
Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry has revolutionized the way dentists are able to take care of the gums. Instead of relying on scalpels and sutures, our team can simply expose infected gums to a highly-concentrated beam of light to remove harmful bacteria and dead tissue. The laser itself admits practically no heat, sound, or vibration, so a patient basically feels nothing while in the chair. It also sanitizes and cauterizes as it works, so post-treatment bleeding and swelling are practically non-existent.
